At Burt and Company Suicide Survivor Support, we believe that spirituality is a vital part of the healing process and for us, this is a large part of our daily routine. True wellness is about more than just physical health. It's about unlocking your full potential and living your best life. Our spiritual approach to wellness includes connecting with our loved one, meditation, and personalized prayer. Including these things helps us continue with our healing goals and become the best version of ourselves.
"Death ends a life, not a relationship."
If you feel it, believe it. Here we believe that spirit finds many ways to connect with us. Did you see something that immediately reminds you of them, go with your feelings. A cold breeze up your body, a light that flickers in your presence out of the ordinary, or even their face in your head. Find a way to allow yourself to feel what is being sent to you. If you believe, you open yourself to this world.
Find some quiet time every day and be alone in your own chosen space. Be still, close your eyes, and set the intention in your head to allow yourself to completely relax. Let your thoughts come in and then let them go, turning yourself back to your breath. Breathe in and out slowly and try to let yourself go. Start small if you have never meditated. Just 10 minutes to start. Then you can build yourself up to 20-30 minutes, whatever works best for you.
Prayer and your beliefs are personal. You get the choice to decide who or what your higher being is or is not. This space is available for all beliefs here. Whatever prayer means to you, spend some time allowing yourself to engage and to be thankful for what you do have. The more thankful we are, the more we receive. Asking for what we want can sometimes feel overwhelming if we do not receive. Open yourself to a different way in delivering your prayers. "Today I am thankful for the ability to get out of bed."
EASY JOURNALING to put your intentions out into your world, space, universe, GOD, your higher power- whatever you believe in outside of you.
1) I intend to: 3 things you want to do today.
2) send love to: 3 people you want to send extra love to and why.
3) I am thankful for: 3 things you are thankful for about yourself or in your life.
4) I want to let go of: 3 things you are holding onto that you want to let go of or forgive.
5) I want to change: 3 things you want to change about yourself or your life.
You can always use a good old notebook instead of this page. It doesn’t matter what you put it on. What matters is writing it down, having the real intention for it and releasing it into your space.
